Since 2009 we have been busy working in association with the ‘Gilmerton Heritage Trust’ managing and developing Gilmerton Cove, Edinburgh’s best kept secret.
Gilmerton Cove is a genuine mystery lying hidden beneath the streets on the South side of Edinburgh, these extraordinary carved chambers and passageways all hewn from the living rock have lain hidden for years. Once known as ‘Gilmerton’s Secret’ this labyrinth is now revealed.
In March 2012 Gilmerton Cove was rated No.1 of ‘Things To Do’ in Edinburgh on the ‘Trip Advisor’ Website. This has been a huge achievement for a little known underground attraction on the outskirts of town this in turn brought media coverage from BBC News and STV News in April of this year.
We are delighted to be involved in this exciting development assisting in protecting and preserving this unique heritage site for future generations and exploring the possibility of further excavation.
We aim to provide our visitors with a truly unique memorable experience telling Edinburgh’s rich history as it should be with our passionate tour guides. Booking essential.Book your Gilmerton Cove Tour here
