About this deal

Ich hatte mich vorher mit einem Kugelkopf herumgequält, bis ich von einem Kollegen aus der Tierfotografie-Ecke den Tipp bekam, in solch eine Kardanaufhängung zu investieren. Not mentioned in the instructions is the vertical arm can be move upward so the lens is level with the top right locking knob. Other features include separate adjustments for pans and tilts, with built-in drag adjustment to improve stability and operation, and a pan scale and bubble level for added precision. When your lens is heavy and you’re traveling light, look no further than the GH2F gimbal head from Benro.

Ideal for long, heavy lenses, the GH2 Aluminum Gimbal Head from Benro can hold up to 50 lb, stands 9.The control knobs adjust the tension in the pan and tilt axis so you can set it to your personal preference. The hollow-designed arca-swiss style quick-release plate can easily be removed, while a safety lock prevents the plate from sliding too far. To me the whole point of a Gimbal, unlike often with a tripod head, is not to tightly lock everything down.

Correct tension is easy to achieve with the large-circumference knobs which are rubber-coated and feel very well made. Ball heads just are not suitable for the larger lenses, as well as you have the most control possible. Ideal for long, heavy telephotolenses, the GH2 Aluminum Gimbal Head from Benro can hold up to 50 lb, stands 9. It seems very strong and well able to cope with my 500mm lens, every thing seems operate smoothly and the reviews I have seen for this product are very good. Using this principal it enables the photographer to operate high magnification telephoto lenses very effective.Natürlich kann ein Zoom nicht in allen Zoomstellungen optimal ausbalaciert werden da sich ja die Länge verändert. Having owned the Benro GH2 Gimbal head for around a year I would not recommend it, I have replaced the friction washer which fits between the swinging arm at the top of the head twice since owning it, Benro have to their credit replaced it free of charge, but if your out on a field trip and the friction washer falls apart it'll take 7-10 days to get a replacement, I ve now sold it and stumped up for a Jobu Gimbal head, which I would recommend.

The lens is set flat when using the GH-2, whereas a lens attached to the GH-1 is in an upright position. The sparse instructions don't warn you about this and you are left wondering if it's a faulty product. All lenses/cameras need to be balanced on the head, so watch one of the videos on You Tube on how to do that - makes a big difference - that's where the benefit of a gimbal head lies. One small comment is that I initially found it difficult to get the foot plate tight enough on the lens; but this was resolved by two small strips of sticky backed cork. It is capable of supporting up to an impressive 25 kg of gear, for use with heavy cameras including medium and large format.Included is the Benro PL100 Lens Plate to convert standard lens tripod mounts into Arca-Swiss-type mounts allowing quick-release from the gimbal, and includes two recessed bolt-heads on the underside which prevent the plate from sliding off the mount either forwards or backwards if the tightening screw becomes loose. With the height adjustment vertical arm on the RIGHT looking from the back of the camera/lens there is then good clearance to fire the shutter and to operate surrounding controls. A deduction can be made if the value of the goods has been reduced as a result of you handling the goods more than was necessary. To open, simply loosen the locking knob on the bracket base, lift the bracket arm, rotate the arm, mount your camera and you’re ready to shoot!
