About this deal

Twig managed to get out just before the pot was boiled, but he fouled the batch of honey from swimming around in it, and when the Grossmother fed the colony, the gyle goblins were convinced she was trying to poison them. Can he discover the truth about his past, and find out in what direction the path of his future will lead him? Upon losing it he is set upon by a vast array of different creatures that to even mention them would be spoilers heavy.keinen Sinn dahinter, einfach wie eine Abfolge von Stationen, die "abgearbeitet" werden müssen, um ans Ende zu kommen. I remember first reading this aged 11, at a very unhappy time in my childhood, and it was the very best escape into fantasy I could have hoped for. Though I did enjoy the illustrations, silly words, and overall absurdity of the story (at one point, I said, "Oh no! and had trouble keeping my face straight, despite the tragedy), I still struggled with the novel because of how predictable the plot was.

Paul: My main inspiration for the Deepwoods was perhaps the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, though other books–Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, Gormenghast, Gulliver's Travels– also played their part. Oh my god, what an entertaining and enjoyable read about adventure, hope and never giving up even in the most dire circumstances. You can feel the centuries old suspicions about certain creatures and places on the map, and if you aren't afraid of the Gloamglozer then you aren't human. Chris: I drew a map that looked like the edge of a map because I’ve always been fascinated by the edges of maps - the place where the known world ends. We were a bit confused at the beginning and it took us a few chapters to get in to the story but we would highly recommended the book.
