About this deal

They lie in wait outside his hole each day, crouching behind trees with loaded guns; ready to shoot, starve or dig Mr Fox out. But Mr Fox is a crafty, noble fox with lots of little foxlets to feed, and he isn’t going to give up that easily.

I read it to my daughter in a couple of nights and added it to my “70 from the 70s” reading project. And b) because the publishing industry has enough problems right now with money, and it's not as if books aren't available for free at libraries. Whilst I didn’t think there was as much dark humour and wit as in some of Dahl’s other stories it is still a fun and entertaining read.

But the Fox isn’t really that fantastic, let’s be honest with ourselves, the solutions to his problems are so. and as a treat for him, i am going to create a book review in which i use plenty of pictures of foxes! From his iconic illustrations of The BFG and Matilda to Mr Stink with birds and beasts of all shapes and sizes along the way, Roald Dahl’s favourite illustrator Quentin Blake has been making us smile for more than half a century. Perhaps not as urbane as portrayed by Clooney and directed by Anderson, Dahl’s fox is nonetheless fantastic for his ability to outfox messers Boggis, Bunce, and Bean.

Working from his memory of the aboveground routes he has used, he and his children tunnel into Boggis's four chicken houses. He was also the author of Matilda, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG and many more brilliant stories.Roald Dahl at his best - an oft overlooked story (at least until the film adaptation) this is lots of fun. Listen to FANTASTIC MR FOX and other Roald Dahl audiobooks read by some very famous voices, including Kate Winslet, David Walliams and Steven Fry - plus there are added squelchy sound-effects from Pinewood Studios! If you have a book where the main character is a Fox, and people are going to praise him for being fantastic, he better. Mr Fox is so clever that every evening he creeps down into the valley and helps himself to food from their farms - and those GHASTLY farmers can't catch him! He works together with Mr Badger, to keep their families safe underground, far from the diggers, shovels and guns of the nasty farmers.

It was released in 2009 and features the voices of George Clooney as Mr Fox, Meryl Streep as Mrs Fox, Bill Murray as Badger, Robert Hurlstone as Boggis, Hugo Guinness as Bunce and Michael Gambon as Bean. Mr Fox is so clever that every evening he creeps down into the valley and helps himself to food from the farms. His mesmerising stories, written in sizzling, sparkly language, will lead you into adventures you’ll never ever forget!
