About this deal

Little Lizzie refuses to speak after she and her mum move in with her new stepdad and younger stepbrothers. lizzies mom gets married to a bloke lizzie does not like and does not make a good impression so she decides not to tal any more will she ever talk? Jacqueline's books include The Story of Tracy Beaker, which has become a hugely successful BBC TV series; Girls in Love, which together with its two sequels was filmed for ITV television; and Double Act, which she adapted for Channel 4 and which won the Royal TV Society's Best Children's Fiction Award. Lizzie is experiencing the change in a new environment when she moved in to live with her step dad and his sons.

One of Jacqueline’s most successful and enduring creations has been the famous Tracy Beaker, who first appeared in 1991 in The Story of Tracy Beaker. This is a great book for early readers who want to start reading chapter books, but who aren’t quite strong enough readers yet.Since reading this book, she has gone from Jacqueline Wilson to Jacqueline Wilson and from strength to strength. I remember reading her books and never wanting to put them down, not only did they look good with their bright coloured covers and amusing pictures, they transported me into this ‘grown-ups’ world. Lizzie's great-gran is then taken into hospital after suffering from a stroke and it falls down to Lizzie to help her get her voice back and start enjoying life again. In 2007 Jacky Daydream was published, an inspirational true story of how a shy schoolgirl became a superstar author. Jak se seznámila s prababičkou, tak jsem si myslela, že ji bude nenávidět, ale byl z toho pravý opak a jsem za něho ráda.

She doesn't want to talk to Rory or Jake, her new step-brothers, or Sam, their dad, or even her mum. Again I love the fact that JW is tackling sensitive issues that young children may be facing themselves, and again, in this book, she hits on the subject of a parent getting a new partner and then the child having to deal with things no longer being the same. It is a very heart-warming story which I think a lot of children can relate to as it focuses on changes in the family and everyday issues whilst growing up.Join Daisy, Lily and the rest of the Alphabet Girl gang as they go up against Chloe to have the best sleepover in the world!

The descriptions of the dolls are a very good feature in this though I do wish some more story telling could have been done between Lizzie and great gran.

This tale of a young girl coming to terms with her parents' divorce and her new identity as a stepchild is a mini-masterpiece. This is another short story, ideal for younger readers, that chronicles the difficulties faced by a young girl as she struggles to adapt to her new living situation, with her mum’s new partner and his children. I would recommend it for 12 or 13 year-old non-native speakers and it's definitely only a book girls would like to read. She succeeds at including a range of grown up issues into Children’s stories and making them easy to understand.
