They may represent spiritual entities that we revere, or gods or goddesses that we commune with, but these objects are not idols. The scent you decide on will hold its own magickal correspondence to aid you in manifesting your intention. You’ll also want a central symbol for your altar, perhaps an image or figure of a deity or loved one, a pentagram, a powerful crystal, an incense burner, a bowl, or a chalice—your central symbol will change as you and your needs do. Personal Items + Offerings: Using your altar space to hold artwork, pictures, old photos, really anything that is especially significant and personal to you is a great way to keep memories, pets, or people close to us. But each altar is personal to that witch, and it will change as she changes and as her practice changes. Look for a flat rock (with a slight indentation would be amazing) and a rounded rock you can use in your hand. Take a moment to meditate, say a prayer, or ask the universe to surround your space with love, openness, and to be a guide to your practice.
