Use publishing software to create your own story about a person who reads a book about a person who finds a book about… The book can be used throughout key stage one and two. At key stage one level it can be read to the class by the teacher during story time whilst the children enjoy the illustrations, and then read independently during key stage two once the children become more developed readers.

With storybooks the illustrations are the key to animating the text for the listener.
