About this deal

While the beam pattern is noticeably torch-like (by comparison, something like Ravemen's LR1200 – full review to come – has a much wider spread) and far-reaching, side illumination is enough to prevent the sensation of riding into a tunnel. The point of all this is to keep brain power and guessing to a minimum when you find yourself at the limit while also offering a ton of choices. When riding, each press of the button will show a coloured LED. Green for high, amber for medium, and red for low. The main display panel also shows the mode you are in and a countdown timer. In case you forget which program you are in, the display shows that when you turn the light on and if the light is upside down, the display swaps direction. Delivery timescales are esimates in working days; Public Holidays, Saturday's and Sunday's are NOT classed as working days.

The Sirius once the best of the best “to be seen” front light, now with the output increased to 950 lumens can easily light the road ahead when required. The Sirius hits the sweet spot for power to weight, housed in a CNC machined aluminium body that features 240° front and side illumination giving the flexibility to be used for the daily commute or longer rides.AKTiv is a technology that dims the light in response to a car's headlights. Fancy name aside, there's a light sensor in the front of the unit. Hit it with a sufficiently bright light and the power of the Strada drops. If you'd prefer not to have your light dim for cars, you can turn it off. Both the AKTiv lights and those without the feature do come with an, optionally used, wired remote to dim the lights manually.

The only downside is that charging is via a dedicated cable rather than the usual universal USB-B cable. This might put some people off as it means you need to carry a dedicated cable rather than rely on the usual one that everyone has everywhere. But the upside is that the charge port is well protected from the weather, as long as you insure that the fiddly rubber cap is shut properly. The clamping system is easy to use and mount to the bars with the single Allen bolt. The light is just as easy to attach to the clamp and removal is totally intuitive. Bespoke pulse pattern designed for daylight use which is more conspicuous than a regular pulse and visible from over a kilometre away, even in the brightest conditions. DayBright mode will get you noticed. Be Seen Be Safe. Despite the light’s visual bulk and relative high weight, it was impressively stable even over the roughest terrain I could find; not shaking, slipping or coming loose at all. Reakt: Rear lighting that flares up automatically under braking. It can also intelligently adapt to the surrounding ambient light conditions to maintain maximum contrast and visibility, for example brightening for street lit areas and moving into sunlight from shade.Day Bright: Bespoke pulse pattern designed for daylight use which is more conspicuous than a regular pulse and visible from over a kilometre away, even in the brightest conditions. They are typically made with higher quality materials and are designed to withstand the wear and tear that comes with regular use. Investing in a high-quality Exposure Sirius MK10 Front Light with DayBright means that you won’t have to replace it as frequently, saving you money. In The Box: Sirius MK10 DB, TraceR MK2 ReAKT, QR Seatpost Mount, QR Handlebar Mount, 1 x Micro USB Charge Cable, 1 x USB Charge Cable, QS Guide Technologies: Rear lighting that flares up automatically under braking. It can also intelligently adapt to the surrounding ambient light conditions to maintain maximum contrast and visibility, for example brightening for street lit areas and moving into sunlight from shade. Fuel Gauge You get what you pay for and this is a beautifully designed light built in the UK. It’s not outrageous for what it is but it’s also not a bargain.

Patented circuitry within the light will reduce power to the LEDs, if they go beyond the optimum temperature, keeping the light as efficient as possible to maximise output and battery capacity. Once the light has cooled, the power is automatically restored. ReaktExposure’s solution to this is to have a variety of “programs”, each with only a handful of settings in. This way there are over 20 settings in total, but the most you’ll ever have to cycle through is three. The ride It’s important to note that when shopping for Lights products, it can be tempting to go for the lowest price possible, but be wary of retailers that offer prices that seem too good to be true. Some less reputable retailers may sell counterfeit or low-quality Exposure Sirius MK10 Front Light with DayBright, which can be dangerous and not perform as well as the genuine product. Choosing a reputable retailer like Chain Reaction Cycles can help ensure that you’re getting a high-quality product at a competitive price. The Exposure Sirius Mk9 Daybright bike light uses the brand's own OMS programmable mode setting to enable the end user to set the power and number of light modes dependent on preference. Thanks to Exposure's Optimised Mode Selector (OMS), all of these settings are customisable; that's to say, you can extend run-times by reducing the lumens. The light has a 7-hour battery charge time and a maximum run time of 36 hours, depending on the mode selected, and there's a fuel gauge to alert you to the remaining battery level so you don't get caught out.

Exposure does list the basic numbers. This light puts out 1600 lumens at full power and has a 10,200 mAh Li-Ion battery that will sustain it for two hours at that power level. From there, the key statement is "Burn time and lumen output are directly proportional, if you double the run time, you halve the lumen output." That's your guidance for figuring out what you get across the seven programs that feature a mix of three, and sometimes two, power levels. You can see the two different types of lights Exposure uses for the road beam pattern and you can also see the sensor for headlights in the bottom right (Image credit: Josh Ross) With an increased output to 900 watts, the Exposure Lights Sirius Mk10 Daybright Front Light has gone from being a favourite 'to be seen' light to a 'to see' option, making it ideal for darker country lanes. Constructed from CNC machined aluminium and with an IP65 water rating, this light is tough, durable, and reliable in all conditions. Visibility extends to the sides, with 240° illumination making sure vehicles approaching from the front and from an angle are fully aware of your presence.

I've never felt like I've needed any more light for the commute than the Sirius offers. You get good side visibility too, courtesy of a lens that extends well forward of the body of the light, a hood in the aluminium casing preventing any of that light shining up into your eyes. On the other hand, I would want a wider beam for a fast training ride out in the lanes, for which the Sirius isn't intended. Like most of Exposure's lights, the Sirius has an anodised 6063 aluminium casing. Drop it and you might scratch the finish but you're unlikely to cause any damage that's going to affect the function. It really is ruff 'n' tuff. The light has an IPX6 rating, meaning that water won't get inside during normal use. Finance is subject to application, financial circumstances and borrowing history. Various programs in the lights can easily be selected to offer a choice of run times and modes so you can find the right one for your ride, be it an all-night adventure or an intense blast. ITM Shape and beam quality is excellent. Keeps it from feeling like riding in a tunnel and there’s a fairly tight cutoff. I would like to see a bit higher max lumens though.
