About this deal

With normal filters air passes through a sheet with holes and larger dust particles get trapped in the holes that are big enough to let air through but too small to let large dust particles and things like hair pass through. But what does HEPA actually stand for? Well…. It depends who you ask but they all mean the same thing; less allergens, irritants and dust in your home. This size of dust particles is measured in microns. 1 micron is one-millionth of a metre, way too small to be visible to the human eye. To access the filter, you need to take off the lid of your Henry using the same method as when replacing the bag. All you need to do is remove it from the vacuum cleaner and run it under some cold water until you have visibly removed the dust that you can see.

This 12" Filter will fit machines including "180," "200," "240" or "370" in their number, the 11" Henry Filter will fit 160 ModelsUnfortunately it’s not a regulated market so be wary of any marketing material that states anything such as “HEPA LIKE” or anything like that.

Henry Hoover filters can’t be washed with water. Instead, you should remove as much dust as possible by tapping off the loose debris into a bin, then vacuuming the filter with another vac. If you don’t have another vacuum, then a soft (dry) brush can be used to remove dirt. They will definitely keep more dust in your hoover than a regular hoover so if anyone in your home has dust allergies they will benefit from a HEPA filter. I measured the raw power of the Henry Allergy HVA160 at a massive 402AW, dropping to only 281AW with the vent open. That’s about the same power as the Stihl SE 33 wet and dry cleaner, and a lot more powerful than the Shark CZ500UKT. Tip: We recommend cleaning the filter outdoors. This prevents the loose dust and other allergens from being spread around your home. Step 2: Tap Off Dirt and DustIf you are prepared to spend a little more on a hoover with a HEPA filter then it will keep your home cleaner and fresher for longer. All filters are not the same and the cheaper ones will not filter out a lot of the dust a filter can only be called a HEPA filter if it keeps hold of 99.97% of all dust particles. Unfortunately, Henry vacuum filters are not washable. Cleaning with water will cause any dirt and dust to become more clogged and reduce the suction power even further. Water could also damage the filter and cause it to perform less effectively. Can You Put a Henry Hoover Filter in the Washing Machine?

Henry Hoover filters cannot be washed with water, as the dust and dirt will turn into mud. Start by tapping off loose debris into a bin. Then use a second vacuum cleaner to remove dust from both the inside and outside of the filter. Keep in mind that the filter is never going to appear as white and clean as when you first bought it. The goal is to remove as much dust as possible – not to restore the filter to its original appearance. If your vacuum cleaner has a HEPA filter then it will keep hold of dust that is less than 1 micron in size.

Henry Allergy HVA 160

No, Henry filters should not be put in the washing machine. Water can clog the filter and they aren’t designed to withstand a wash cycle. Cleaning the filter on your vacuum cleaner at least once a month is recommended to ensure that there is no loss of performance and it is still collecting all of the tiny particles that it is made to do. A HEPA filter makes sure that tiny particles of dust stay inside your hoover when you are cleaning.
