About this deal

Yes, however before applying the Colourant the leather will need to be degreased. For this we recommend using our Leather Degreaser. This will remove any excess oils from within the leather, enabling the Leather Colourant to adhere to the leather. We have 24 standard colours and hundreds of custom colours including many specific car interior colours. We also offer a colour matching service for an exact match to your leather item. The Leather Colourant Kit is not just a standard leather dye but an actual process, which gives fine results every time. Developed by professionals in the leather manufacturing industry, our Leather Colourants are not just standard dyes, but water-based dye finishes used to give a long-lasting, durable and flexible finish. As well as being non-hazardous and non-flammable, this kit is easy and safe to use. Selecting Your Colour & Finish

Before you apply leather colourants to the surface, start with a small patch, preferably in an out of sight space. You should also apply light coats at first to ensure you are happy with the process. Leather dyes can create strong colours, transforming leather items, so don't rush the process. If you follow detailed instructions, you'll hopefully see amazing results. It is the perfect solution for repairing scuffs, scratches and colour loss. If you need to restore a large item of leather (i.e. a full sofa or car interior) then we would recommend using our Leather Colourant Kit. However, the Leather Repair Paint can still be used for these larger jobs if you wish. It can easily be applied by sponge, brush or spray. Sending a sample of the leather was only necessary because I was not able to take my car to their premises. They welcome customers and tell me they have people regularly visiting to buy their products, not just for cars but for furniture as well. The people I spoke to on the telephone were helpful and friendly. This is a refreshingly different attitude from one of the other suppliers (Gliptone) who I have heard are rather abrupt and will not accept visitors. Once the item is clean, you'll need to apply the dye. Make sure to follow the instructions that come with your particular kit, as some dyes may require different application methods. In general, however, you'll want to use a soft cloth or brush to apply the dye evenly across the surface of the leather. The Leather Colourants are designed for restoring the colour and changing the colour of all leather items. The reason we recommend this colourant range over any other is the high rub fastness and scuff resistance characteristics: you will struggle to scuff or scratch them!A small cloth patch is carefully positioned behind the tear. 2. The Leather Glue is then used to fix the patch in place 3. Imperfections are ‘filled’ with ‘Heavy Filler’ and coloured. The colour is first ‘dabbed’ on with a sponge, working into creases (below). These splits had repaired previously with poor results The splits have been repaired with patches glued behind the damage, filled with ‘Repair Compound’, and recoloured (below).

Whether you opt for traditional dye, a leather colourant kit or leather re colouring balm, The Leather Colour Doctor is here to assist you. What Is Vegetable-Tanned Leather?

There are so many reasons to grab a leather colourant to revitalise your car interior. Here are a few of the benefits. Calling on modern colour matching methods, our team of specialists will identify the colour of your leather and formulate an exact match.

If you're repairing an area of colour loss smaller than an A5 piece of paper, then you should clean the area with Alcohol Cleaner before applying any colour. To improve abrasion resistance and water spotting even further, add 5% Norsol X-Linker to the colourant. I'm unsure what size Leather Colourant Kit I require for my project, is there a general guide or 'rule of thumb'?

What colours can you make with leather dye?

As beautiful and luxurious as leather goods are, even nature needs a helping hand. Over time, leather can begin to look faded and worn. Staining can ruin its appearance, or the colour loses its vibrancy.

Our Leather Colourants are a water-based polyurethane mixture, with exceptional adhesion abilities, specially formulated to flex with the leather while maintaining high resistance to tear, abrasion and scratching. NORSOL Leather Colourants have a high pigment content, resulting in excellent depth of colour, filling and levelling properties. Often, only two coats are required and in some cases even one can be sufficient. There is a wide range of coloured options to consider with leather re-colouring balm, and it is easy to use, all you need is a cloth. You should buff the leather recoloring balm into the coat, furniture or leather surface until it is mixed so well, you cannot see the colour transfer. A. No, this is the benefit of using Leather Repair Paint. The colour seals itself whilst it dries. The only time you would need to apply Leather Finish would be to match the shine of the leather. I would like to recommend The Furniture Clinic (0844 879 3691) as an excellent supplier of leather restoration products. Better still, we’ll provide you with a specific RAL colour code for your interior so you can easily match it next time.

Once applied, our colourants and finishes are so tough, you will find it difficult to even scuff or scratch the leather! No matter what colour you're looking for, you will find it in a leather dye. And if you can't find the exact colour you're looking for, you can always mix different dyes to create your unique shade. This all-in-one leather colour restorer combines the flexibility, coverage, and quality of our standard Leather Colourant with the self-sealing properties of our Leather Finish. You can use the Leather Repair Paint to repair any type of colour damage to sofas, car seats, clothing, handbags and all other leather items.
